Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using ZoomerDocs, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.
These terms sit alongside the Privacy Policy, which describes what happens to your documents and your personal data.
Your account
Everything except the public pages needs an account. Use a real email address that you control — it is how you verify the account, recover a password, and prove the account is yours when you ask for your data or its deletion.
Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it.
Acceptable use
Do not upload content you have no right to upload, and do not use the service for anything unlawful where you are or where we operate.
Do not try to reach other users' documents, work around rate limits or credit accounting, run automated traffic far beyond what a person would generate, or resell access without our agreement. We may suspend an account that does these things.
Your content stays yours
Your documents remain yours. Uploading a file gives us no ownership of it and no right to use it for our own purposes.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the operation you asked for: to store the file for its retention window, to extract text from it, to index that text so search and chat can find the right passage, and to send the relevant part to the AI provider that produces the result. That permission ends when the content is deleted.
We do not train models on your content, and we licence it to no one. The Privacy Policy sets out who processes what.
Credits
AI work is paid for in credits: OCR, summarizing, translating, extraction and chat. Mechanical operations — splitting, merging, converting — run on our CPUs rather than on a model, and cost no credits.
Credits are a prepaid unit of account for use of this service. They are not money, carry no cash value, cannot be transferred, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Credits granted for free, such as the grant that arrives when you verify your email, may be adjusted or withdrawn.
We quote the credit cost of an operation before you run it and hold that amount while it runs. If it costs less than the quote, the difference returns to your balance; if it fails, the hold is released. Our rates are derived from what the underlying models actually charge us and may change — a change applies to work you start after it.
Paid plans
Card payments are not live yet. Until they are, paid plans are arranged by hand: write to us and we will move the account over. Before we start charging, we will publish the terms of that.
Availability
The service is provided as it is, on a best-effort basis, with no uptime guarantee. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may set or adjust limits on file sizes, request rates and quotas.
Uploads and results may be deleted automatically once their retention window passes — the Privacy Policy states the window that applies — so ZoomerDocs is not a backup service and must not be used as one. Keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.
AI output can be wrong
A transcription can misread a figure, a summary can omit the one clause that mattered, an extraction can put a plausible number in a right-looking field, and a chat answer can be confidently incorrect. Check the output against the original document before you rely on it.
Nothing the service produces is legal, medical, financial or other professional advice, and none of it replaces someone qualified reading the document.
Warranties and liability
So far as the law allows, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost or corrupted data.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to what you have paid us for the service in the three months before the claim — which, on a free account, is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service at any time, and you may ask us to delete your account — the Privacy Policy explains how.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the service or other users at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the place where the operator is established, without depriving you of any protection given to you by the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page changes when we do, and significant changes are announced to account holders by email. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it.
